Skeletal System
The skeletal system is the "fram work" for the body that protect many vital organs like the heart in lungs. In a baby there are 270 bones but by aldluthood some bones fuse together leaving only 206

Axial Skeleton
The axial skeleton includes the backbone, ribs, skull and sternum. The backbone includes thoracic (vertebre behind the ribs), cervical (neck vertebre) and lumbar vertabre (vertebre at the base of the back). This is made of 80 bones
The Skull
The skull is made of 22 different bones and helps protect the brain and sense organs. It includes the orbit (protects the eyes), the jaw (made up of the uper jaw and lower jaw) and a sinus (an air filled space in the skull).
Appendicular Skeleton
The appendicular skeleton makes up the legs, arms and pelvis. The arms are ancored to the pectoral gridle while the legs are anncored to the pelvic gridle, Over 80 percent of it's 126 bones are found in the hands and feet.
Joints
"Joints allow one bone to move against eachother and give the skelton its flexibility" The concise encyclopedia of the Human Body pg. 44. In a fixed joint the bones are fixed together and cannot move. Movable Joints bones can easily move. Between joints there is usally catlidge.
Arthitis
Arthritis is a variety of dieses and disoreders that cause joints to be swollen and painful or difficlt to move.
