The Lungs
The lungs are on either side of your heart, on top of your diaphram and are in the chest cavity, protected by the rib cage. They are made of spong-like tissue and have a large blood supply. Thier job is to supply the cardio varcular system with oxygen.

"The system that collcts oxygen and exhales Carbon Dioxide"*. This system has two parts, the lungs and respitory track. It also works with the circulatory system to keep the body oxygenated.
Respitory Track
The first part of this track is the nose. The next part is the pharynx or the throat. Food and air pass through this until it divids and the food goes down the esophagus and the air goes down the larynx, the voice box, and them continues into the trechea. The trechea then brings the bronchi (the entrances to the lungs).
Adolf Fick
Fick was a phsiologist that first connect the laws of physics to the body. He came up with the law of diffusion and applied t to oxygen entering the blood stream throught the lungs.
